Property Description

The Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center is a new indoor facility is a premier sports, recreation, and events complex located in Williamsburg, VA area identified as the Historic Triangle, which includes three historic colonial communities located on the Virginia Peninsula. The approximately 200,000 square-foot facility includes 12 basketball courts that can be converted to 24 volleyball courts and 36 pickleball courts.

Ceiling-mounted basketball goals, volleyball systems and scoreboards. Conversion turf system the length of one regulation football field that fits three indoor soccer fields. The design also includes climbing equipment, climbing wall, and additional gym equipment, tip & roll bleachers, curtain dividers, meeting rooms, and a food & beverage area. Meeting and event spaces are available along with an Adventure Gym.

Anticipated to open in summer 2026.

Position Summary

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of all food and beverage operations at the Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center in Williamsburg, VA. This includes the management of the onsite, concession/fast-casual and counter service areas, and all banquet and catering functions. This individual will lead a diverse team of front-of-house and back-of-house professionals, ensuring exceptional service, high-quality offerings, and profitability across all outlets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the annual food and beverage operating plan and budget to ensure alignment with revenue goals and guest experience standards.
  • Manage all food and beverage outlets across the park, including full-service restaurants, counter service locations, and banquet/catering spaces.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all F&B FOH team members, including service staff, kitchen staff, and event/catering personnel.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Implement and monitor purchasing and inventory systems to maintain appropriate stock levels and manage cost controls across all units.
  • Collaborate with marketing and programming teams to develop promotions, packages, and event-driven activations to increase guest spending and enhance brand visibility.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners to optimize product quality and pricing.
  • Lead the planning and execution of food and beverage service for internal events, tournaments, banquets, and external rentals.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between kitchen and service staff to maintain consistency in guest service and culinary execution.
  • Uphold compliance with TABC guidelines and all alcohol service regulations; maintain certifications for responsible alcohol management programs (e.g., TIPS or R.A.M.).
  • Monitor guest satisfaction through feedback loops and service recovery efforts to maintain a high standard of hospitality across all touchpoints.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging concepts, and guest expectations to evolve the Mansfield Sports Park food and beverage program.
Qualifications
  • High school, college degree, required or preferred.
  • 5 years applicable functional, supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in the golf industry.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management.
  • Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
