Position Summary

RBCI is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC) with maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of medical equipment to ensure safe and effective operation in clinical environments. This work is onsite at the Williamsburg, VA office. 5%-10% travel may be required.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of biomedical engineering principles, electronic systems, and the capabilities, limitations, design characteristics, and functional use of a wide variety of medical and diagnostic equipment.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of electronic circuitry, including electronic tubes and transistors, X‑ray tube operations, and the interrelationship between electrical and electronic circuitry and associated chemical, radiation, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and medical gas systems within complex medical devices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and testing on a broad range of medical equipment, including but not limited to sterilizers, suction apparatuses, dental units, imaging systems, and patient care devices, in accordance with manufacturer specifications, regulatory standards, and Navy policy.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including identifying equipment, facility, or service deficiencies, and determining appropriate corrective actions to restore safe and effective equipment operation.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hydraulic systems, including grips, locks, stop and release mechanisms, and the ability to determine proper adjustment and identify leaks or system failures.
  • Utilize electronic and mechanical diagnostic tools such as multimeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, pressure gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other test and measurement instruments to assess equipment performance, wear, alignment, and functionality.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, specifications, regulations, policy statements, and other governing guidance while maintaining accurate maintenance and service documentation within approved maintenance management systems.
  • Maintain awareness of and remain current with advancements in medical technology, scientific developments, network protocols, cybersecurity considerations, and vendor updates impacting medical equipment support.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management in support of mission and operational requirements.
