Job Description

Index AR Solutions is an enterprise software firm that develops augmented reality (AR) mobile applications, eBooks, and other solutions designed to make workers safer, more capable and highly productive. Index AR Solutions serves industries such as energy/utilities, hospitals, higher education, and skilled trades.

Position Summary:

As Project Manager at Index AR Solutions, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of custom application and eBook training/field-operations solutions for large enterprise clients. You will act as the primary liaison between internal cross-functional teams (software engineers, UX/design, content development, QA), the client’s stakeholders, and senior leadership. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet or exceed defined performance and quality objectives—while aligning with Index’s mission to “augment people” and drive real workforce impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for client-facing application/eBook/software solutions (from kickoff through deployment and adoption).
  • Define detailed project scopes, schedules (milestones, phases: prototype - pilot - production) and resource plans in line with the company’s solution roadmap.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients: manage stakeholder expectations, communicate progress, elevate risks/issues, and facilitate decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (solutions architecture, software development, content authors, QA, field operations) to ensure alignment, timely deliverables, and technical quality.
  • Implement risk management, change-control processes, and budget oversight—ensuring scope changes or feature creep are managed and documented.
  • Monitor project performance metrics (schedule adherence, budget variance, client satisfaction, post-deployment adoption) and deliver summary reports to senior leadership.
  • Conduct project reviews and post-launch retrospectives to identify lessons learned, continuous improvement actions and knowledge shares across project teams.
  • Support business development efforts when required (e.g., assisting in proposal timelines, client kickoff readiness).
  • Facilitate training or hand-off activities to client operations teams to ensure smooth adoption of Index products and long-term client success.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or similar;
  • 2+ years of experience in project management delivering software, mobile application or training solutions (enterprise/industrial context preferred).
  • Experience managing client-facing projects with multiple stakeholders, complex deliverables, and integration of software + content + field deployment.
  • Strong familiarity with mobile/enterprise software lifecycle, including agile or hybrid methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively with clients, cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, MS Excel, etc.).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP or equivalent certification/experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to adapt to evolving client/technology needs.
Competencies & Mindset:
  • Strategic thinker who can align project outcomes with business value and client outcomes (e.g., worker safety, productivity gains).
  • Results-oriented, with a track record of delivering on time, on budget and with high quality.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Collaborative leader who promotes accountability and drives results across cross-functional teams.
  • Change-agent mindset: comfortable with innovation, iteration, continuous improvement, and managing ambiguity.
Work Environment & Travel:
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Williamsburg, VA (or commute/hybrid) with week-long travel of 35% to client sites domestically.
