Plant Supervisor/Operator – Ready‑Mix Batching
Hourly Range: $24.00 - $27.09 per hour. (This range does not include discretionary bonuses or equity.)
What You’ll Do- Promote Safety
:
Take an active role in prioritizing safety to ensure all plants have zero accidents and comply with all policies and procedures. - Plant Operation
:
Operate plant equipment to regulate the flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, or storage bins; maintain responsibility for starting up, batching, and shutting down the batch plant daily. - Determine Work Procedure
:
Establish work procedures and assign duties to personnel involved in batching and hauling concrete, as well as maintenance of plant and equipment. - Manage Employee Relations
:
Provide strong leadership, training, team building, and supervision to all employees at the facility to support the operational function of the business. Foster teamwork while upholding company guidelines and maintaining morale. - Coordinate with Dispatch
:
Coordinate with dispatch for efficient delivery of concrete. - Maintain Compliance
:
Ensure environmental and safety policy compliance at the facility, including with outside contractors; promptly correct any non‑compliance. - Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs
:
Assist and organize employee work during daily inspection and maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions. Maintain general appearance and security of grounds and equipment. - Manage Inventory
:
Manage and monitor inventory and plant operating costs; prepare daily reports. - Additional Responsibilities
:
Other duties as assigned.
- Experience
:
Previous experience in the ready mix, aggregate, or construction industry is required. - Knowledge of Best Practices
:
Basic knowledge of concrete, cement, or construction industries is required. - Leadership and Management Skills
:
Must provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships. - Problem‑Solving Skills
:
Must be able to work independently and solve problems, alone or as part of a team. - Flexibility
:
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, tolerate loud noises, work a rotating schedule with varying shifts, and work overtime as needed.
