Food Ministry Assistant

The Grove Christian Outreach Center is dedicated to providing food, clothing, and financial assistance to the residents of Grove at no cost. With a mission to serve neighbors with love and compassion, the center aims to share the Gospel through acts of service. The Outreach Center fosters a welcoming environment for community volunteers to contribute their talents in meaningful ways. Partnering with faith-based organizations, the center offers a variety of ministry opportunities to make a positive impact on the local community.

The Food Ministry Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Williamsburg, VA. The primary responsibilities include assisting with the coordination and distribution of food resources, maintaining inventory systems, and ensuring that all food ministry activities run smoothly. The role also involves engaging with volunteers, providing support to community members, and fostering a welcoming environment. Additionally, the Assistant will collaborate with staff to implement programs that align with the center’s mission of service and outreach.

• Strong skills in Communication and the ability to build positive relationships with team members, volunteers, and the community
• Experience in Administrative Assistance, including maintaining records, organizing schedules, and managing resources
• An understanding of and experience with Pastoral Care and Youth Ministry to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the community
• Demonstrated ability in Training and mentoring volunteers to ensure effective program implementation
• Compassion and a commitment to serving individuals in need
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Experience in food distribution or community outreach is a plus
