Williamsburg, VA – Sign on bonus eligible up to $7,000 for experienced nurses.
Responsibilities- Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the total nursing care of assigned patients.
- Utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity.
- Supervises and delegates non‑professional personnel to ensure optimum patient care.
- Demonstrates competence in dealing with age‑related needs of specific patient populations.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services in accordance with Riverside Health System standards and facility goals.
- Assesses patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice for the specialty or patient population.
- Partners with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes.
- Incorporates evidence‑based standards of practice and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
- Facilitates safe patient transition to the next level of care as part of the plan of care.
- Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput and ensure consistent, competent, and ethical care.
- Focuses on quality outcomes when addressing service needs to ensure evidence‑based quality care.
- Understands and respects diverse patient care populations and modifies education methods accordingly.
- Coordinates and delivers individualized patient education and discharge education to family or caregivers; evaluates comprehension and documents findings.
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence.
- Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
- Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.
- Education:
MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required; specialty certification in field highly encouraged. - Experience:
Preferred in an acute care setting, but not required. - Licensure/Certification:
Licensed RN or board‑eligible in the State of Virginia or compact state required; BLS Card required.
