Registered Nurse; RN - Med Surg - Part Time - Nights

Williamsburg, VA – Sign on bonus eligible up to $7,000 for experienced nurses.

• Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the total nursing care of assigned patients.
• Utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity.
• Supervises and delegates non‑professional personnel to ensure optimum patient care.
• Demonstrates competence in dealing with age‑related needs of specific patient populations.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services in accordance with Riverside Health System standards and facility goals.
• Assesses patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice for the specialty or patient population.
• Partners with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes.
• Incorporates evidence‑based standards of practice and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
• Facilitates safe patient transition to the next level of care as part of the plan of care.
• Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput and ensure consistent, competent, and ethical care.
• Focuses on quality outcomes when addressing service needs to ensure evidence‑based quality care.
• Understands and respects diverse patient care populations and modifies education methods accordingly.
• Coordinates and delivers individualized patient education and discharge education to family or caregivers; evaluates comprehension and documents findings.
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
• Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.

• Education:
  
  MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required; specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
• Experience:
  
  Preferred in an acute care setting, but not required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Licensed RN or board‑eligible in the State of Virginia or compact state required; BLS Card required.
