Registered Nurse Inpatient Surgical

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center – Inpatient Surgical – Registered Nurse – Full Time (Night shift)

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care using the nursing process, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN also upholds professional performance standards involving ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

• Perform nursing care for inpatients, including patient assessment, admission, rounding checks, medication administration, and family communication.
• Apply the nursing process and professional performance standards to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Maintain BLS certification within 90 days of hire and adhere to specific clinical area standards for all direct‑care RNs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and provide comprehensive patient care.

• Valid RN license to work in the State of Virginia.
• RN diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN. Previous inpatient RN experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
