Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role located in Williamsburg, VA. The Registered Nurse will provide direct, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. Daily responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, documenting patient status, and responding promptly to changes in condition. The nurse will collaborate closely with physicians, allied health professionals, and families to coordinate care, support discharge planning, and educate caregivers on treatment plans and home care.

Additional duties include adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting a safe, child-friendly environment.

Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain; graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required).
  • Clinical experience in pediatric or acute care settings, with demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications safely, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including the ability to provide clear education and compassionate support.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR), basic computer applications, and standard clinical equipment; strong attention to detail in documentation and medication administration.
  • Commitment to infection control, patient safety, and evidence-based practice; willingness to participate in ongoing education, certifications (e.g., BLS, PALS), and quality improvement activities.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed; capacity to manage multiple priorities and remain calm in fast-paced environments.
