Description:
The position requires working with an adult patient population.
Patients include those with depression, suicidal tendencies, and severe mental illness.
The nurse will manage a small detox unit as well.
Key responsibilities include administering medications, conducting patient assessments, and managing admissions and discharges.
The nurse will handle an average of 10-15 assessments daily.
The work environment is fast-paced and may require dealing with aggressive behavior, including physical holds.
No IV or wound care is involved in this role.
The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:12.There will be at least two nurses per unit, which may include combinations of RNs and LPNs.Weekend and holiday shifts are required during the winter season.
Handle with Care certification is necessary, but assistance with this training will be provided if needed.
