Park Supervisor; Quarter Park - WAR​/Part-Time

Overview

Responsible for managing the daily operation of New Quarter Park. Responsibilities include assisting patrons, monitoring activities, maintaining cleanliness, and carrying out daily park operation tasks.

• Assist customers in person or via phone, take shelter reservations, collect fees, and direct patrons to park amenities.
• Provide good public relations and follow established policies and procedures.
• Educate park patrons on park ordinances and enforce all park rules and regulations.
• Assist with daily park operations and maintenance.
• Open and close the park.
• Operate park equipment as needed (e.g., chainsaw, gator, lawnmower, and other handheld tools).
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Position is work as required, with no benefits.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent and some work experience involving public contact, general record keeping, and cash handling; or any combination of training and experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with a good driving record is mandatory.
• This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include criminal history and background checks.
• Working knowledge of operating a park or similar facility is required.
• Must be disciplined, reliable, self-motivated and have excellent customer service skills.
• General knowledge of recreational principles and practices.
• General knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are those for Medium Work.
