Position: Research Program Coordinator (Health Sciences)

Research Program Coordinator (Health Sciences)

The Research Program Coordinator supports human clinical nutrition research studies and the educational mission of the laboratory. This position coordinates randomized controlled dietary intervention trials by managing research activities, participant interactions, regulatory requirements, and study documentation. The Research Program Coordinator works closely with the Principal Investigator to support high-quality research outcomes and contributes to data analysis, reporting, and dissemination efforts. The position also supports laboratory organization, student training, and research operations while mentoring undergraduate research assistants and providing instruction in clinical research methods and laboratory techniques.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates clinical trial appointments, including participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and informed consent processes.
  • Conducts participant assessments, including anthropometric, physiological, and neuroimaging evaluations.
  • Collects, processes, and organizes biological samples, including saliva and blood-derived specimens, in accordance with study protocols.
  • Oversees ecological momentary assessment (EMA) data collection and manages wearable biosensor deployment and data acquisition.
  • Maintains accurate study records, databases, and research documentation to support data integrity and compliance.
  • Supports clinical research protocols through quality assurance activities, data management, and coordination with research team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Physiology, Biology, Health Sciences, Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience in clinical, translational, or human participant research.
  • Experience following research protocols, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with research participants, students, faculty, and research staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment with strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Compensation: $28.50/hour

This is a part-time, hourly position with a work schedule of up to 29 hours per week.
