Job Overview
FT 40 hours a week. Must be able to work all shifts Mon‑Sat 7:30‑8:00. Must stand for 8 hours, lift 50 lbs and climb stairs. Knowledge of Stihl, Toro and Briggs & Stratton a plus. Potential for advancement.
ResponsibilitiesSales Associate:
- Provide legendary customer service and guide customers to appropriate products.
- Greet each customer with a smile.
- Ask “What project are you working on today?” and recommend solutions.
- Exceed customer expectations by walking them to products and suggesting additional items.
- Strengthen relationships by using the customer’s name during interactions.
- Thank customers for shopping at Ace Peninsula Hardware.
- Participate in all store training programs.
- Learn to sell complete projects and product knowledge.
- Execute store services such as mixing paint, cutting glass, cutting keys and shades, re‑keying locks, and testing pool and hot tub water.
- Stock warehouse, drop‑ship and back‑stock inventory.
- Special‑order products for customers as needed.
- Report shoplifting activity and follow store procedures.
- Attend WOW and Customer Engagement events.
- Promote the Ace Rewards program.
Cashier:
- Greet customers and assist with transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Operate the cash register and point‑of‑sale accurately.
- Maintain a neat, clean checkout area.
- Handle returns and exchanges quickly.
- Call customers when their rain checks or special orders are in stock.
- Count cash drawer before each shift and close it after each transaction.
- Maintain minimum cash in register and request pickup when necessary.
- Guard against point‑of‑sale scams.
- Participate in WOW and Customer Engagement events.
- Promote the Ace Rewards program.
- Direct customer interaction, helping them find all needed items for projects.
- Fast‑paced and fun environment.
- Work on your feet 6‑8 hours per shift.
- Lift 40–50 lbs.
