Job Overview
Cox Communications is seeking a Retail Sales Associate who creates exceptional customer experiences while driving sales of our mobile products.
What You’ll Do- Explain and demonstrate product capabilities and offer suggestions based on customer wants and needs.
- Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention.
- Assist with the opening and closing of a store retail environment.
- Properly handle cash.
- Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos.
- Support fellow sales agents when needed.
- Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings by participating in regular training classes.
- May be required to work in other locations within the same geographical area.
- High school diploma, GED, or up to 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for a consultative, solutions-based sales approach.
- Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base.
- Multi‑tasking and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented team environment.
- Mobility in the store for long periods to greet customers and demonstrate products.
- Computer literacy and aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 25–50 pounds to help manage stock‑room inventory.
- Some college experience with a focus in sales, business, or management.
- One year of experience in a related field (e.g., retail sales, service industry).
- Experience selling wireless/mobile products.
- Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken.
- Variable targeted total compensation of $48,628 (approximately $23.38/hr), with higher earners around $63,655 (≈$30.60/hr).
- Base hourly rate of $16.38/hr plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,279.
- Ramp period of up to 2 months to adjust to commission earnings.
