Security Officer Armed

Sentara Health is hiring a Security Officer Armed - Recruit for Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. This is a Full-Time position with a rotating schedule.

• Monday through Friday, the Security staff works three shifts: 7am - 3:30pm, 3pm - 11:30pm, and 11pm - 7:30am.
• Over the weekends, there may be a 12-hour and a 4-hour shift.
• New hires are asked to be flexible to start and to move to a regular schedule.
• Schedules are set to match the two-week pay period, with most Officers working part of their 40 hours on alternate weekends.

The Security Officer Armed Recruitrole is a roledesignatedfor newly hired Security Officers while preparing for successful transition to an Armed Officer role.

During the transition period of120 daysall training andrequiredcertifications will be completed to allow them to progress to an Armed Security Officer role.

The primary function of this transitional role is to further develop the necessary skills, training, and certificationsrequiredto carry a weapon and function as a fully Armed Security Officer.

• High School Diploma or equivalent(Required)

• State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current Valid Driver’s license (Required)

• 1 year of security,militaryor policeexperience (Strongly Preferred)

An offer of employment for aSecurity Officer Armed Recruitiscontingent on passing the pre-employment screening process, which includes a fitness assessment and psychological evaluation. Once the preemployment process is cleared and employmenthasbegun, incumbents will have
120 daysto successfully complete and obtain other job specific certifications, as defined in the job profile. Failure to obtain these certifications within the prescribedtimeframewill result in termination of employment. Annual fitness assessment is required,and psychological evaluations arerequiredevery 3 years as a condition of continued employment in this position.
