Job DescriptionJSL Technologies, Inc. is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) to support Civil Engineering Equipment (CEE) maintenance operations at the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), Cheatham Annex.
This is a contingent hire, pending contract award. The incumbent will perform HVAC maintenance, inspection, repair, and certification on Environmental Control Units (ECUs) and other HVAC-related equipment associated with Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) and Civil Engineering End Items (CEEI).
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as an HVAC Mechanic
Certifications:
- EPA Section 608 Technician Certification for recovery of refrigerants
- One of the following HVAC certifications:
- North American Technician Excellence (NATE)
- HVAC Excellence
- Certified HVAC Designer (CHD)
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to pass background investigation
- Must complete required DoD/BUMED IT security training
HVAC Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC equipment including Environmental Control Units (ECUs) assigned to EXMEDS platforms
- Conduct inspections, testing, and operational verification of HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions
- Perform recovery and handling of refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations
- Replace filters, belts, and other HVAC components as needed
- Ensure all HVAC equipment meets operational specifications per manufacturer manuals
- Support maintenance of Civil Engineering End Items (CEEI) including shelters and containers with installed HVAC systems
- Perform Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) on HVAC-related equipment
- Generate Equipment Repair Orders (EROs) for annotating all equipment discrepancies
- Perform operational tests of ECUs and other HVAC equipment
- Support preparation of HVAC equipment for shipment via air or surface
- Enter all maintenance actions into DMLSS Equipment & Technology Management (E&TM) Module or other government databases as directed
- Maintain equipment history jackets for each piece of HVAC equipment
- Document worker time on equipment within each work order
- Scan and electronically attach supporting documentation to work orders
- Maintain calibration certificates and maintenance records
- Comply with all fire, security, and safety regulations (OSHA, CFR)
- Follow proper procedures for handling refrigerants and HAZMAT
- Report accidents/mishaps and property damage to COR/ACOR immediately
- Maintain required certifications and training
- Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions
- Knowledge of refrigerant handling and EPA regulations
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply reference materials such as manufacturer manuals, regulations, catalogs, records, and orders
- Ability to read and speak the English language with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format
- Proficiency in US standard office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems)
- Strong ethical principles and customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Light to moderate physical effort required
- Walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items
- Lifting and carrying items over 45 lbs
- Work is performed on hard surfaces
Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government- granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
