Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure safe and reliable facility operations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC equipment and associated components.
- Apply HVAC system design knowledge to maintain proper airflow, temperature control, and system balance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards including refrigerant handling requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and refrigerant recovery documentation.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with facility personnel and maintenance teams.
- Adhere to safety requirements and best practices related to HVAC systems and electrical work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Mechanic.
Specialized
Experience:
Experience diagnosing and servicing HVAC/R electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Certifications:
EPA Section 608 Technician Certification; HVAC certifications such as NATE, HVAC Excellence, or Certified HVAC Designer (CHD).
