Job Details:
Lafayette Square Lafayette Family and Elderly Apartments, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Position type:
Full Time. Salary: $21.00–$26.00 per hour. Travel: up to 10%.
Position Summary:
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician II who works independently, takes ownership of work, and supports reliability and craftsmanship. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and building maintenance issues, performing preventative maintenance, managing apartment turnovers, and responding to residents’ service requests.

- Diagnose and complete routine and moderately complex maintenance repairs.
- Respond to resident service requests with professionalism and urgency.
- Perform preventative maintenance and quarterly inspections.
- Maintain common areas, grounds, and building systems.
- Complete apartment turnovers within established timelines.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Support and share knowledge with less experienced team members.
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and compliance requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school training or industry certifications.
- Experience in multifamily housing, property management, or residential maintenance.
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one‑hour lunch break. Occasional evenings, weekends, and on‑call responsibilities are required.
