Facilities OverviewThe facilities team at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation acts as a safeguard for the Foundation's physical assets and operational continuity. Our teams work diligently to ensure that our spaces are safe, functional and properly maintained for staff, guests, community and stakeholders.
Job DutiesMaintenance & PM:
Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems (elevators, generators) and general facility infrastructure (HVAC, plumbing). Ensures all work follows safety procedures and uses proper PPE.
Repair & Troubleshooting:
Diagnoses electrical failures using schematics and testing equipment. Handles system installations, wiring, and multi-trade repairs involving drywall, painting, and fixtures.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensures all electrical work meets local, state, and national codes while strictly adhering to OSHA standards.
Documentation:
Manages digital records via CMMS, tracking work orders, materials, and SPCC spending logs.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, generators, elevators.
- Skills in the use of electrical systems diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability to install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems. Such as lighting fixtures and controls, breaker panels, elevators, backup generators, and emergency systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose repair problems using schematics, blueprints and manuals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, and all weather conditions.
- Experience with or ability to learn BAS controls systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work using CMMS.
Education, training and/or certification in skilled trades would be helpful in this position.
Experience working in a similar role, or as an electrician or technician would be preferred.
