Description About the Position
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, technical support, and guidance to Maintenance Technicians. Types of work will include but are not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, finishes, pools, electronics, and service of various equipment normally found in a commercial kitchen or hotel environment. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for team compliance with shop rules, bargaining unit stipulations, timekeeping rules, safety regulations, and compliance with CWF policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Directing the activities of a maintenance team in a hotel environment.
- Monitoring conditions of buildings and acting on signs of trouble.
- Prioritizing and assigning tasks to technicians and contractors.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on various types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems found in a hotel environment.
- Monitor team performance and provide training or support as needed.
- Manage project work carried out by staff or contractors.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Follow internal policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintains proficiency in the field through ongoing training.
- Communicate fluidly with department managers and guests.
This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7+ Years in Facility Management in Hospitality or a relatable industry
- Advanced proficiency in HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing trade work
- Supervisory experience
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License – Must present current DMV record.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- EPA Section 608 Certification.
- Ability to conduct training sessions, communicate effectively orally and in writing, understand/interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams.
Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s criteria.
- Must be able to provide a 5-year Motor Vehicle Record prior to employment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- May not have more than 1 moving violation or at fault accident within 12 months
- May not have more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within 36 months
- May not have any serious motor vehicle violations including but not limited to excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, suspended or revoked license, etc.
- DPOR Journeyman or Master Trade License – HVAC, electrical, or plumbing
