Electrician – Cox-Powell Corporation
Cox-Powell Corporation, a leading commercial mechanical and electrical contractor, is hiring an Electrician. Candidates must have a current Virginia state license (Journeyman or Master) and at least 4 years of experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician. Local candidates only with Commercial HVAC experience are preferred. Signing bonus of $3,000 is available for qualified applicants.
Responsibilities- Test electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to identify issues, confirm safety, and ensure compatibility.
- Use testing devices, blueprints, and maps to determine steps needed to access electrical situations.
- Repair electric issues by replacing or installing components, wiring, or devices.
- Document actions, testing results, observations, diagnoses, and steps taken for each job.
- Respond quickly to emergency calls, ensure safety upon arrival, and provide directions to affected individuals.
- Maintain all equipment in good condition and report issues to the supervisor.
- Current Virginia state license for Journeyman or Master Electrician.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and state/local regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass background and substance‑abuse screening before employment; subject to random post‑accident screening.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
