ResponsibilitiesPrimary objective of equipment maintenance is repair and upkeep of production equipment. Keep equipment safe and effective to meet production targets on time and within cost.
- Assist equipment technicians or service personnel with technical support via phone/email or at job site.
- Develop quick and accurate communication with field personnel and dispatch.
- Ensure quality of repairs to minimize recall/duplicate work.
- Maintain compliance with all governmental and company safety policies.
- Follow Human Resources policies.
- Review shop tool requirements to work more efficiently.
- Report deficiencies to improve preventive maintenance program.
- Participate in technical training with dealer/manufacturer and transfer training to mechanics.
- Collaborate with field services dispatcher and parts personnel to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Work daily with internal department, field managers, superintendents, and field mechanics.
- Hourly position requiring overtime as needed.
- Maintain necessary tools (company does not provide industry standard tools).
- Keep service truck clean and orderly.
- Adhere to HOS (hours of service) if applicable.
- Comply with Trimble/Telogis regulations.
- Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned.

Experience & Education/Certification- 1 year field experience repairing heavy construction equipment.
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Knowledge of all components of heavy construction machinery: diesel engines, power transmissions, hydrostatic drives, hydraulics.
- Diagnostic capabilities with hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
- Ability to make repair decisions quickly and rationally.
- Expectation to keep all sensitive material confidential.
- Arrange schedules, recommend machinery for repair, and place parts orders.
- Give and receive written or oral instructions.
- Work independently and safely.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar Et/SIS, Volvo Prosis/Tech Tool, Cummins InSite.
- Basic skills in OXY/Acetylene torch.
- Basic stick welding 7018, 6010.
