Lead Datacomm Installation Technician

Position Details

Salary: $25–$40 per hour.

This field‑based installation role is based at our headquarters in Williamsburg, with job sites located throughout Greater Hampton Roads and Richmond.

Lead installation crews and manage project execution, read blueprints, and coordinate with office, project, and client teams. Install and troubleshoot structured cabling systems (Cat5/6, fiber, patch panels, 110/66 blocks, 25 pairs, building racks, ladder racks, grounding/bonding). Perform audio/video and/or security/surveillance installation. Maintain work safety protocols while operating power tools and working on ladders.

• Minimum 3 years of experience leading installation crews and running projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience installing/troubleshooting structured cabling systems.
• BICSI Installer/Technician, Panduit, Ortronics or equivalent industry training.
• Experience with audio/video and/or security/surveillance is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction techniques.
• Computer and networking experience.
• Own basic industry tools.
• Reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
• Professional appearance with a friendly, responsive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be versatile.
• Demonstrated motivation to learn if applicable experience is lacking.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain DCJS licensure.
• Capability to work on ladders and use power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
