Position: Army C-12 / King Air Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) -Williamstown, WV.

The Army C-12 / King Air Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Parkersburg, WV

  • A valid FAA A&P Certificate is required.
  • Union CBA provides three levels of A&P experience based on years of hands‑on maintenance experience on the assigned aircraft.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance and for facility/base access at this site location.
  • Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun and drills.
  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738‑751.
  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations. Must obtain certification within twelve (12) months of employment.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform all other position‑related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A valid FAA A&P Certificate is required.
  • Union CBA site offers three levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on the number of specific years of A&P experience on MDS Army C‑12/King Air B200/350/1900, PT6 aircraft assigned.
  • AM‑1:
    Two (2) years of A&P mechanic experience required, with a minimum of two (2) years specific C‑12/King Air hands‑on experience preferred.
  • AM‑2:
    Five (5) years of C‑12/King Air specific hands‑on A&P aircraft mechanic experience required.
  • AM‑3:
    Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience and thirteen (13) years of specific C‑12/King Air aircraft experience required.
  • Must be able to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft‑specific specs for weight limit.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and pass the AR‑95‑20 Pre‑employment Medical.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government Security Clearance, for facility credentials, base access and authorization to work at this site/facility.
AR‑95‑20 A&P Mechanic Pre‑employment Medical/Physical Requirements
  • All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading or operating self‑propelled support equipment within ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed five (5) years. BMI below 40 is required.
Physical and Additional Qualifications
  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and complies with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non‑confrontational attitude.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Aircraft Mechanic I – $40.69
  • Aircraft Mechanic II – $45.51
  • Aircraft Mechanic III – $47.54
  • Lead Pay – $2.05 an hour additional.
  • H&W – $7.20 per hour, paid up to 40 hours a week.
  • I.A.M. Pension Plan – The company shall contribute to the I.A.M. National Pension Fund up to forty (40) hours per work week.
  • 27.02 Amentum Savings Plan – Bargaining unit employees may participate in the Amentum 401(k) Savings Plan with no employer match. Effective the first full pay period after 16 January 2026, the company will provide a discretionary contribution of $0.50 per hour paid up to eighty (80) hours per pay period.
