Job Duties
The Facilities Technician Assistant supports the upkeep, safety, and operation of our three primary sites
- Jamestown Settlement, Emerson Central Support Complex and the American Revolutionary Museum s role involves using manual and electrical tools to perform basic hands-on carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs, in a safe and timely manner while meeting physical demands like lifting and climbing.
The position also supports other skilled trades staff and functions as needed. This position has been deemed Designated Employee as defined in Policy No. 1.35 DHRM - Emergency Closing
Minimum Qualifications
- Skilled in the use of electrical and manual tools related to the duties of the position.
- General knowledge of building maintenance and other skilled trades principles such as repair and replacement of basic electrical, HVAC and plumbing fixtures, basic carpentry skills, and small equipment and engine repair, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of staff, vendors and stakeholders
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and follow directions from manuals and drawings.
- Ability to work from heights, ladders or scaffolding, in confined spaces, and varying climates.
- Must be able to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work as a team and independently when needed.
- Valid Driver’s License
