Our team is hiring an Equipment Operator to support Warehouse Support Services for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), in Williamsburg, VA
Position OverviewThe Equipment Operator will support warehouse and logistics operations s role performs essential material handling and vehicle operations in support of receiving, staging, storage, re‑warehousing, platform stowage, and movement of Government‑owned equipment and materiel within a high‑tempo DoD warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate material handling equipment and vehicles to support receiving, staging, stowage, re‑warehousing, platform stow, and movement of equipment and materiel
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move large, heavy, or awkward loads within the warehouse and storage areas
- Assist with loading, unloading, positioning, and securing equipment and materiel to support warehouse and operational timelines
- Conduct required pre‑operation inspections of vehicles and equipment; identify and report discrepancies or safety concerns
- Maintain situational awareness and comply with all safety procedures while operating in active warehouse environments
- Coordinate informally with warehouse, logistics, and maintenance personnel to support daily workflow priorities
- Support accountability and proper care of equipment, tools, and vehicles used during operations
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas in accordance with established safety practices
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as an equipment operator in a warehouse, logistics, industrial, or comparable operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating vehicles and equipment supporting the movement of large or heavy loads
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, equipment safety practices, and material handling workflows
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Class A endorsement
- Experience operating standard transmission vehicles and vehicles with trailer endorsement
- Ability to obtain certification to operate 4,000–30,000 lb forklifts and other material handling equipment
US Citizen;
Employment is contingent upon successful completion and adjudication of all required pre‑employment screenings, including background investigation and verification checks.
- Experience supporting warehouse operations within a government or DoD logistics environment
- Prior experience operating equipment in support of large‑scale staging, sustainment, or deployment activities
