Job Description
This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.
The individual selected for this role will be expected to work out of Store #705169, located at: 457 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
Responsibilities- Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in an efficient manner.
- Load customer orders properly on the truck.
- Ensure appropriate forms are completed.
- Load, transport, and deliver items to customers safely and on time.
- Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor of repair and servicing needs.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
- Adhere to assigned routes and time schedules.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
- Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, and forklifts.
- Perform other store tasks including warehouse duties, tinting, mixing customer orders, and waiting on customers.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship.
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate from a DOT licensed medical examiner, or be willing to obtain one within five business days of a conditional offer.
- Must be able to retrieve material from shelves, lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must read and speak English sufficiently for communication and record entry.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience as a delivery driver.
- At least one year of experience operating material handling equipment.
- Experience selling paint and paint-related products.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
