Job Summary

Pay Rate: $22.94 per hour
Telecommute Status: Onsite

The Medical Material Specialist II (MMS II) performs clerical and physical tasks supporting the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command’s Expeditionary Medical System mission. Responsibilities include receiving, shipping, storing, picking, kitting, unpacking, and inventory of general or specialized material and equipment. The MMS uses the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support database, Hospital Information Management System, or other DoD authorized systems to accurately account for and process the Table of Allowances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be proficient in the use of authorized databases for routine processes.
  • Provide warehouse support for receiving, shipping, storing, picking, kitting, unpacking, and inventory of material and equipment.
  • Train workers in the safe and proper use of products and equipment to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Assist workers in performing duties.
  • Perform inventory and documentation of supply stock using the database, adjust stock levels, and support disposal processes.
  • Review, stock, and resupply medical logistics items, removing outdated or expired items.
  • Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents appropriately and promptly.
  • Research quality assurance messages via the database.
  • Review documents to ensure proper information has been included; obtain missing information and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Perform receiving duties, including unloading, processing shipments, checking documentation, and generating labels.
  • Perform inventory control work for a large production, sustainment, and distribution center, including counting, surveying, and analyzing inventory.
  • Perform platform stowing of material assigned to each EXMED platform.
  • Perform Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate (PPP&C) for kitting and shipping of EXMEDs.
  • Perform administrative duties such as word processing, data entry, and maintaining electronic documents.
  • Maintain general warehouse cleanliness and aesthetics.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations.
  • Ability to train employees in proper departmental practices, safety, and use of PPE, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language.
  • Mathematical ability includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Detail-oriented and proficient at adhering to published standards and guidance directed in local SOPs, Navy guidelines, and DoD publications.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Computer literacy and ability to look up and enter information using a computer.
  • Minimal computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to learn specialized software related to departmental operations.
  • Experience operating a forklift, scan gun, and other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and respond to customer and employee questions.
  • Customer service skills to act responsively to inquiries and to elevate more difficult matters appropriately.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Demonstrated organization, problem‑solving, and common‑sense skills.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications or Licenses Required
  • CAT Card Clearance
  • Forklift Certification
  • Valid Driver's License

Special Requirements
  • Ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
  • Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.
  • Utilizing a keyboard.
  • Monitoring computer systems.
  • May include viewing computer and detailed work requiring close vision.
  • Maneuvering to and around equipment.
  • Required to lift and carry weight over 45 pounds.
  • Work is performed on hard surfaces.
Work Environment

Work is performed in an austere warehouse environment, which may require walking to and from other warehouses. Warehouse equipment can be found in each location. Personal protective equipment such as steel‑toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, glasses, and gloves is required. Exposure to extreme cold or heat, background noise, or noise from equipment may occur.
