Job Summary
The Medical Materiel Specialist II (MMS II) at Solution One, Williamsburg, VA, supports the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command’s (NMRLC) Expeditionary Medical System (EXMED) mission by performing warehouse support, inventory, and logistics activities for general and specialized medical equipment.
Responsibilities- Use DMLSS, HIMS or other authorized databases to complete routine processes and document supply stock.
- Receive, ship, store (stow), select (pick), dispose of supply turn‑in, pack (kitting and stuffing), and unpack (download) materials.
- Adjust stock levels and support disposal of excess or unserviceable materials.
- Review and resupply medical logistics items, removing expired or outdated items from shelves or kits.
- Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents promptly.
- Research and resolve discrepancies or omissions in military database records.
- Handle receiving duties including unloading, processing shipments, checking documentation, reporting over, short, or damaged items, and segregating materials by type.
- Generate labels and route material to staging areas or stow locations using the automated system.
- Conduct inventory control work: counting, surveying, physical inventories, material handling, and analysis to support command inventory integrity.
- Stow material on assigned EXMED platforms and facilitate rapid deployment.
- Pack, re‑pack items for kitting and shipping of EXMEDS using standard packing materials and methods.
- Perform administrative duties such as word processing, correcting errors, transmitting electronic mail, and maintaining electronic documents.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and aesthetics.
- General supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, and assemblage management.
- Operation of warehouse equipment: forklifts, side lifts, cherry‑pickers, etc., with valid certification.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (steel‑toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.) during duty.
- Experience with DMLSS or other Medical Materiel Information Systems.
- Ability to work in an austere environment, walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.
- Capacity to lift and carry weights over 40 pounds.
Special Requirements
- Work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
- Lift and carry items over 45 pounds.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
