The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time and /or substitution basis in the Welding area.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
* Associate's Degree in Welding, metal fabrication, nondestructive testing, or a related discipline. Required
* Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Certified Welding Inspector-AWS. Preferred
* Certified Welding Educator-AWS. Preferred
* ASNT Level II VT, RT, UT, PT, and/or MT. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
* Three (3) years of industrial experience in welding/NDT. Required
* Experience teaching welding at the secondary or postsecondary level. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
* Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, and the public. Required
* Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff. Required
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

* Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required
Responsibilities
Instruct and evaluate student performance in one or more of the following Welding/NDT areas:
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Robotic Welding, Welding Blueprint & Layout, Basic CNC Programming, and/or conventional NDT methods (visual, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing. This list is not exhaustive. Maintain accurate written records of student performance. Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance.
Maintain communications with School administrators as appropriate.
Requisition supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate. Complete official student rosters and return to School office as required. Attend department meetings as requested. Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. Participate in school assessment process.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features
Some lifting not to exceed 60 lbs. may be required. Must be able to work in welding environment and tolerate fumes and heat.
Pay Transparency
The part-time rate for 2025/26 will be the greater of $1160 per credit or $773 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $48.31 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
