Family Health Center Rehab is a multidisciplinary clinic that provides a wide variety of PT, OT, CHT, and SLP services for patients with orthopedic, neurologic, and chronic pain conditions.
We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) who has a passion for working in an outpatient neuro setting. This position would be responsible for helping to grow our Neuro program within the Willimantic area.
The Physical Therapist (PT) administers medically prescribed Physical Therapy treatments to patients. The Physical Therapist (PT) independently evaluates patient's level of function, determines treatment strategies, and delivers and/or delegates Physical Therapy services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain.
This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, prescription of exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
Neurologic specific responsibilities include:
- Evaluate patient with neurologic diagnoses, including Parkinson's Disease, CVA, SCI, concussion, MS, balance and fall prevention and create individualized Plan of Care
- Demonstrate competence in amplitude based exercises (LSVT BIG or PWR!) to address movement disorders
- Provide patient and/or caregiver training in Safe Steps balance and fall prevention strategies
- Provide appropriate and safe exercise plan for patient with neuro diagnoses, with modifications to functional ability as needed
- Work in a multidisciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP

QualificationsNeuro experience preferred, however, will accept new grads with strong neuro clinical experience
Ability to work independently and drive the neuro program.
Graduate of Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, BS, master's or doctoral degree.
CT active or temporary license.
