DepartmentDescription
The Windham Hospital Emergency Department is open 24/7 to provide care to patients of all ages in a safe, patient-focused environment. The team consists of nurses, physician assistants, APRNs, physicians, patient care technicians and paramedics trained to handle any type of emergency. In addition to the Emergency Department, the Patient Access Department works jointly with such Windham Hospital outpatient departments such as Ambulatory Care Unit, Cardiac Diagnostic Center, Diabetes Education, Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology), One Day Surgery, Pain Management, Pulmonary Laboratory, Women's Health Services and the Wound Care Center.
PositionSummary
Obtains, validates and inputs patient demographics and financial information;
Obtains co-pays and deductibles.
Provides assistance with financial applications.
Scanning
Constant interaction with patients, families, payers and clinical staff in all areas of the Hospital including outpatient clinics.
Work various reports as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word required
- Two years' experience in hospital medical setting or insurance billing preferred.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Professional customer service skills
- Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and work in a team environment.
