About the Program:
Roots to Recovery: A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. R2R is located in Willimantic. There are 14 beds and it is a 90 day maximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs.

Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work during their stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard
  • Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
  • Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to transfer information to other staff regarding the day's events
  • Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including: nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
  • Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor
  • Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
  • Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Valid driver's license required with good driving record.

Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

Compensation*: $19.28/hour minimum, and up commensurate upon experience
