Qualifications:
Education:
Master's Degree or Doctorate in Special Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field. Certification:
Valid State Administrator/Superintendent license. Special Education teaching or administrative endorsement required.
Experience:
Minimum of 57 years of successful administrative experience in special education, campus leadership or student services. Experience managing cross-functional teams (including health professionals) is required.
Job Summary:
1. Strategic Leadership & Inclusion Culture Serve as a core member of the Superintendent's Executive Leadership Team. Champion the district's vision for neurodiversity, inclusion, and universal design for learning (UDL). Advise the Superintendent and Board on legislative, legal, and funding changes impacting special education and health services.
2. Special Education Administration Oversee the identification, placement, and instructional programming for all students receiving special education services. Ensure absolute district compliance with IDEA, ADA, Section 504, and state education codes. Manage the district's response to state audits, state complaints, and due process hearings.
3. Health & Medical Services Oversight Direct the district's K-12 nursing staff and clinic operations. Oversee the development and execution of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency medical protocols. Serve as the district's primary liaison with local public health authorities and medical providers.
4. Fiscal & Operational Management Develop and monitor the annual budgets for Special Education (including IDEA grants) and Health Services. Maximize Special Education Medicaid Initiative (SEMI) reimbursement programs for both specialized instruction and nursing services. Allocate specialized staffing (nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, special education teachers, etc.) based on student data and workload analysis.
Terms of Employment:
Twelve (12) Month Tenure Track $135,000 $ 165,000 (commensurate with experience) Benefits Package Includes:
