Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey (NJ RN license)
  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
  • Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute care settings preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
Core Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic or paper records
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning on the day of admission
  • Communicate changes in patient status to providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
  • Supervise and direct Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
  • Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety procedures
  • Participate in team building and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
  • Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC nursing
