The Construction Safety Consultant is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment across construction and industrial project sites. This role partners with general contractors, subcontractors, trade partners, and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements, regulatory standards, and company safety expectations. The Construction Safety Consultant conducts field observations, risk assessments, investigations, training, and safety audits while proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities

Support may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with general contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners to reinforce safe work practices and project safety expectations
  • Review safety plans, permits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), lift plans, and related safety documentation
  • Conduct routine onsite safety inspections, field observations, and compliance reviews
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities and verify implementation of critical safety controls
  • Participate in incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action development
  • Perform safety risk assessments, audits, hazard analyses, and corrective action tracking
  • Evaluate site conditions and work activities for compliance with OSHA regulations, client standards, and company policies
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and supplemental safety training as needed
  • Participate in safety committee meetings, coordination meetings, pre-task planning, and project planning discussions
  • Prepare written recommendations, inspection reports, summaries, corrective action plans, and other safety-related documentation
  • Communicate site risks, trends, observations, and priority concerns to project leadership and stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental performance
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical project environments
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced project environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • CHST, CSP, ASP, or other safety-related certifications
  • Experience with high-risk activities, including confined space, energized work, fall protection, crane operations, rigging, or lockout/tagout
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

This position primarily operates in active construction and industrial environments where exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and changing site conditions is common.
