Substitute Teaching Position
Substitute Teaching License Requirements:
At least 48 semester hours of college coursework (official transcript required) - OR
- State-approved online training in lieu of traditional college credit requirements!

Substitute Teacher Pay:
Compensation is $170/day. Teachers with a [regular] teaching license who long-term sub receive $170/day for the first 5 days. Starting on day 6, pay increases to 90% of the teacher's salary.
License Cost & Reimbursement:
License Fee: $95. Reimbursement available if you work more than 145 hours as a substitute with WBSD
7. Valid for 2 years (expires on your birthday). License allows subbing in grades K-12 at any North Dakota school.
After receiving your North Dakota substitute license from ESPB, please attach a copy of the license to your online application. Upon submission of their application, an applicant will be required to also submit the following documents:
Frontline Training Completion Certificate and copy of High School Diploma or GED certificate --OR-- Official college transcript with any credits earned.
