Compensation: $73.00/hr + Agency Supplied Vehicle

Location: Williston, ND

Schedule: 5/2 | 40 hours/week with potential overtime (must be pre‑approved)

Scope / Overview

The Technical Trainer III – Measurement is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs that build workforce competency and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations within Production and Midstream organizations. This role serves as the primary interface between field subject matter experts (SMEs), operations leadership, competency advisors, and the corporate training organization to develop, implement, and maintain measurement‑specific training programs.

The successful candidate will possess extensive oil & gas measurement experience along with proven instructional and leadership capabilities. This individual will help establish and maintain competency programs, training roadmaps, and certification requirements while ensuring compliance with company training standards and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously improve technical training programs focused on oil & gas measurement systems, equipment, and operational best practices.
  • Design competency‑based learning paths and training roadmaps for Measurement personnel.
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Operations, Maintenance, Midstream, and Training leadership to define curriculum requirements and ensure training effectiveness.
  • Support implementation and governance of Operations Training System requirements, including training compliance, qualification, and certification tracking.
  • Work closely with the Training Supervisor to ensure site training plans meet corporate standards, best practices, and business line requirements.
  • Facilitate classroom instruction, field‑based training, workshops, and practical demonstrations for employees at various experience levels.
  • Evaluate employee competency and provide coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback.
  • Assist with instructional systems design (ISD) and development of new training materials, lesson plans, presentations, assessments, and practical exercises.
  • Support Learning Management Systems (LMS), including curriculum management, reporting, database functionality, metrics, and troubleshooting training‑related issues.
  • Develop and analyze training metrics to measure program effectiveness and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with governance councils (PLC, MLC, TLC, SSHELC, etc.) to ensure alignment with operational competency requirements.
  • Promote a strong Safety, Security, Health & Environment (SSHE) culture throughout all training activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, company procedures, and measurement technologies.
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple organizations without direct authority while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in oil & gas operations with direct expertise in Measurement systems and processes.
  • Previous experience developing and delivering technical training programs within the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of competency management and workforce qualification programs.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SSHE (Safety, Security, Health & Environment) practices.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Self‑motivated with excellent initiative and customer‑focused mindset.
