Salary

NDDOT Hiring Salary Transportation Engineer III: $7,243 / month
NDDOT Hiring Salary Transportation Engineer II: $5,999 / month
NDDOT Hiring Salary Transportation Engineer I: $5,403 / month

Position Summary

As a Transportation Engineer in our Williston District, you will manage small and medium construction projects and be the main inspector on large projects. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in preparing environmental documents and construction plans is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects, monitor contractor operations, and assure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Design projects and prepare plan documents for district-designed projects.
  • Perform large project inspections, bridge inspections, preliminary surveys, bridge deck evaluations, construction survey, and materials testing.
  • Fill in for project engineer in their absence and handle miscellaneous job duties.
Minimum Qualifications Transportation Engineer III
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree.
  • Four years of professional-level engineering work experience.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  • Requires a Class D driver’s license for travel to meetings and project locations.
Transportation Engineer II
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree.
  • Two years of professional-level engineering work experience.
  • Eligibility to write the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  • Requires a Class D driver’s license for travel to meetings and project locations.
Transportation Engineer I
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree.
  • Eligibility to write the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  • Requires a Class D driver’s license for travel to meetings and project locations.
