DetailedJob Description
As an RF Field Test Engineer, you will be responsible for collecting low-band and mid-band RF data during drive tests and stationary tests across multiple clusters. You will operate RF scanners and provisioned UEs, ensuring accurate measurement synchronization and route execution using GPS and KML-based navigation. The position requires strong field execution discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across various states.
Candidates with prior RF field or RAN engineering experience are preferred, though comprehensive training will be provided. This is a highly mobile, field‑intensive role suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work and extensive travel.
- Perform 4G/5G RF data collection using RF scanners and test UEs.
- Execute stationary and mobility drive tests across assigned clusters.
- Synchronize scanner and UE measurements for accurate data logging.
- Navigate and follow KML-defined drive routes using GPS tools.
- Use RF testing platforms such as TEMS Paragon, XCAL, and QXDM.
- Document field results and report anomalies to the engineering team.
- Travel extensively and relocate to required project states as needed.
- Valid U.S. work authorization (mandatory).
- Willingness to travel frequently and work in field environments.
- Current or prior RF or RAN Field Engineering experience.
- Ability to work 8–10 hours per day in the field.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless technologies, and drive testing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with RF tools such as TEMS Paragon, XCAL, and QXDM.
- Experience with 4G/5G network optimization or performance engineering.
- Familiarity with KML route planning and GPS navigation tools.
- Understanding of low-band and mid-band RF propagation characteristics.
Recruitment Pro Tip:
Showc ase specific drive-test projects you’ve worked on—especially your experience with 5G data collection or major RF tools—as this greatly strengthens your application and demonstrates immediate field readiness.
