The Wireline Engineer - Cased-Hole is responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing advanced technical oversight for cased-hole wireline logging and completion services. This position evaluates job requirements, interprets wellsite conditions, applies specialized wireline knowledge, and exercises independent judgment to recommend safe, compliant, and effective operational solutions for customers and field crews. The role leads the technical execution of assigned wireline jobs, verifies readiness of equipment, personnel, certifications, and compliance requirements, and resolves complex operational issues that may affect safety, service quality, customer expectations, or job success.
Hands-on field support may be performed when necessary to support safe execution, but the primary focus of the position is technical analysis, job planning, client communication, operational decision-making, and oversight of wireline service delivery.
- Evaluates cased-hole wireline job requirements, customer objectives, wellsite conditions, equipment specifications, and operational risks to develop or recommend appropriate service execution plans.
- Applies specialized wireline knowledge to analyze moderately complex to complex wellsite problems, determine root causes, and recommend technical or operational solutions that support safe and successful job completion.
- Serves as the primary technical resource for assigned cased-hole wireline jobs, communicating with customers to clarify service needs, explain technical issues, recommend options, and address operational concerns.
- Provides technical direction and oversight to field personnel during job preparation and execution to ensure work is performed in accordance with customer requirements, company standards, safety expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Reviews and verifies equipment, tooling, pressure-control components, certifications, and job documentation to confirm readiness, service quality, and compliance before and during operations.
- Monitors job performance, evaluates data, identifies variances or potential service-quality concerns, and makes recommendations to adjust procedures, equipment use, or operating approach when conditions change.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment when addressing non-routine technical, safety, equipment, or customer-service issues, including determining when to pause work, elevate concerns, or recommend alternate execution methods.
- Ensures compliance with applicable wireline explosives, transportation, safety, environmental, and operational requirements, including verification of required documentation, certifications, and records.
- Leads, coaches, and provides technical training to less experienced operators and field personnel regarding wireline procedures, service-quality expectations, troubleshooting methods, and safe work practices.
- Coordinates with operations leadership, technicians, and support personnel regarding equipment readiness, diagnostics, maintenance needs, service-quality issues, and post-job follow-up.
- Reviews and maintains accurate job records, equipment documentation, compliance records, and operational reports necessary to support customer service, regulatory compliance, billing, and internal performance review.
- May provide hands-on support with equipment setup, troubleshooting, vehicle or tool readiness, and field execution when needed to support safety, service quality, training, or urgent operational needs; such work is performed in support of the positions technical oversight responsibilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned that are consistent with the technical, professional, and operational oversight responsibilities of the position.

- Bachelors degree in engineering, petroleum technology, geoscience, industrial technology, or a related technical field preferred; or equivalent combination of specialized technical instruction, wireline certifications, and progressively responsible cased-hole wireline experience may be considered where the individual performs substantially similar advanced technical work.
