About The Opportunity
We are seeking a Residential Mortgage Lender to join their growing lending team. For candidates with extensive leadership and mortgage lending experience, this role may be hired as a Residential Mortgage Loan Manager
. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused lending professional who enjoys helping borrowers achieve their home ownership goals while managing the mortgage process from application through closing. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of residential mortgage products, secondary market lending, and regulatory compliance, along with a passion for building lasting customer and community relationships.
- Guide prospective borrowers through the mortgage process and recommend the most suitable loan programs based on their financial qualifications.
- Originate high-quality residential mortgage loans while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate financial documentation required for loan processing and underwriting.
- Review loan packages and present recommendations to Loan Committee and senior management when required.
- Manage the loan process from application through closing, maintaining proactive communication with borrowers, real estate professionals, builders, and internal teams.
- Monitor loan pipeline and provide timely status updates and recommendations to improve lending strategies.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of residential mortgage lending products and marketing initiatives.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with builders, Realtors, real estate agents, community organizations, and prospective customers to generate new business.
- Maintain an active NMLS license and complete all required regulatory and annual training.
- Perform additional duties that support the goals of the lending department.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential mortgage lending, banking, or a related financial services role.
- Strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending practices, underwriting, and financial institution policies.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple loans while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Experience with secondary market lending programs, including:
- Fannie Mae
- FHA
- VA
- USDA
- Housing Finance Agency (HFA) loans
- Previous leadership or management experience is highly valued for candidates being considered for the Mortgage Loan Manager position.
- Customer-focused mortgage professional with strong consultative selling skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to build referral networks within the community.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations and compliance requirements.
