Position: Park Ranger (I)

Summary

You will serve as a Park Ranger (I) with National Park Service, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Division of Interpretation, in Medora, North Dakota.

Major Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
Develops and presents a wide variety of formal and informal audience and learner-centered interpretive experiences using a variety of fully developed interpretive skills, techniques, and tools delivered in-person and through interpretive media and technology. Coordinates the operation of a visitor facility and/or information desk. Develop daily work schedules that include tours of duty and location of assignments for the supervisor's approval.

Guides the learning of others through formal or informal methods. Trains, mentors, coaches, and evaluates a broad range of interpretive programs and products conducted by fellow interpreters and critiques these activities recommending individual or program improvements. Monitors and reports the condition of park resources. Identifies Park resource issues or potential problems that can be corrected or mitigated by immediate attention and takes appropriate steps as needed.

Engages and interacts with local communities through on and off-site representation and interpretive programming. Engages with new audiences and communities. Coordinating and maintaining effective working relationships with organizations (e.g., academic and cultural institutions, state and local government agencies, special interest/user groups). Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Education
