The ND DOCR Division of Parole, Probation, & Pretrial Services has an exciting opportunity for a Parole and Probation Officer. Every day, Parole and Probation Officers help individuals succeed after incarceration while protecting the communities they serve. Recruitment bonuses are paid in two installments: half at the time of hire and the other half after completing one year of employment with the DOCR. New hires coming directly from another state agency or current DOCR employees are not eligible for the recruitment bonus. This position is not eligible for telework.

This position can be located in Watford City or Williston, ND. Must be able to travel back and forth between offices as necessary.

Applicants must live within 45 miles of the Watford City office.

• Supervise individuals on parole and probation
• Develop case plans that promote accountability and success
• Conduct investigations and prepare reports
• Collaborate with courts, law enforcement, treatment providers, and community partners
• Support rehabilitation while protecting public safety
• Build working relationships that promote long-term behavioral change

Experience in corrections, law enforcement, social work, behavioral health, education, military service, or related human service fields is highly valued.

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in behavioral science, education, business, or related field with three years of work experience in a corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting, or
• Associate's degree with five years of experience
• Must be licensable as a North Dakota Peace Officer
• Must pass the Critical Task Assessment (CTA)
• Must complete ND POST-recognized basic peace officer training
• Valid Class D driver's license
• Successful background investigation and criminal record check

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in behavioral science, education, business, or related field or
• Associate's degree with two years of work experience
• Eligibility for ND Peace Officer licensure
• Valid Class D driver's license
