The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides service to patients in designated care settings, including acute, short and long-term care. Working with other healthcare professionals, the NP analyzes and interprets information obtained from patient records, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic data to develop appropriate diagnoses.

The NP may also cover hospital consultations, rounding, and assist with patient procedures, conduct research to improve care, incorporate evidence‑based guidelines, and stay current with state regulations and payer systems. Extensive advanced medical knowledge is demonstrated.
