Clinic - LPN No clinical involvement. Average number of patients per day: up to 25 in primary care, can see up to 50 in walk-in. Common diagnosis/types of patients span from newborns to geriatrics, skin biopsy, circumcision, wart removal, occasional stitches, and splinting. Job duties include using computer programs extensively, performing EKGs, assisting with minor procedures, rooming patients, administering vaccines, cleaning rooms after each patient, stocking the rooms, managing patient phone calls, and collaborating closely with providers.
There are 19 providers in the clinic per day, which varies with some working four days a week. An RN Lead supervises each shift. CNA and CMA are utilized within the clinic. EMR systems used are AEHR and Meditech. Shifts and scheduling are managed by the manager. There is no weekend or holiday requirement. Staff may float to different primary care departments including pediatrics, family, obstetrics, walk-in, and internal medicine.
The dress code requires black scrub pants and a light blue top. Attributes that contribute to success in this role include teamwork, time management, ambition, self-starter qualities, and problem-solving skills.
