Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring data integrity for laboratory operations.
ExpectationsExpected to follow established procedures, formulate best practices, and comply with safety regulations. Must be able to work at a fast pace. Self‑motivated, organized, and effective communicator. Given initial parameters but works independently. Proper use of safety equipment and protective gear. Expected to help train new laboratory personnel. In absence of Laboratory Manager, will serve as department lead.
Essential DutiesOther duties as assigned.
- Authenticate, analyze, and interpret data and report results
- Operating lab equipment (ICP‑OES, FTIR, and other equipment)
- Assist with development, and enhancement, of laboratory database
- Collaborate with Technical Team and Account Management to develop methodology and carry out special projects as needed
- Assist with training new laboratory personnel
- Work with Laboratory Manager to develop daily schedule for laboratory personnel
- Conduct water analyses
- Perform quality control tests
- Responsible for testing and calibration of laboratory instrumentation
- Oversee logs for instrument maintenance
- Maintain clean and safe workspace
Recognize and report safety issues

QualificationsEducation/
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field required. Knowledge of database management and coding languages preferred. At least one year of laboratory experience required. Previous experience with ICP‑OES, Spectroscopy, Spectrophotometry, and Titrations preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
None required.
Physical Requirements – Lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds chest high, short distances. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, and walking. Must be able to talk, hear, see and smell.
Work Environment – Indoor laboratory conditions to include potential exposure to harmful chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil and gases, although this type of work is conducted under a fume hood. Noise level is typically moderate, occasionally loud.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, safety data sheets (SDS’s), operating instructions and procedure manual. English language fluency in reading, writing and speaking.
