Role Summary
The Senior Quality Specialist will complete routine activities to monitor and coordinate the project quality program. This position will be responsible for reviewing documents, attending meetings, conducting walk‑through inspections and investigating non‑compliant conditions. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

- Learn and actively participate in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury‑free environment.
- Participate in the project specific quality plan, project specific water intrusion plan, and project quality status report.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of quality assurance processes, test results and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials.
- Gain knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality problems and assist in developing constructability review reports.
- Develop comprehension of how to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and company policies.
- Utilize a basic understanding of project contract documents.
- Attend pre‑planning, pre‑installation and progress meetings.
- Conduct regular walk‑through observations of construction sites to ensure compliance with contract documents, manufacturers’ instructions and industry standards.
- Investigate non‑compliant conditions; confer with supervisor or other Quality team staff members to determine root cause and provide recommendations to eliminate recurrence.
- Utilize internal quality assurance systems and tools to prepare reports for field superintendents, project managers and subcontractors detailing compliant and non‑compliant quality conditions.
- Assist with the documentation of quality related information.
- May conduct basic constructability reviews under direct supervision.
- May help schedule and witness third‑party compliance inspections and performance verification testing.
- May assist in coordinating other JE Dunn teams, including VDC, Quality Group, Safety, Offsite prefabrication, and Self‑Perform.
- Ensure Project Specific Quality Plans are established, accountability is assigned and the plan is regularly updated.
- Ensure Project Specific Water Intrusion Plan is established, accountability is assigned and the plan is regularly updated.
- Ensure the Project Quality Status Report is completed prior to the Monthly Project Review Meeting.
- Participate in creating National Initiatives such as Quality Assurance Manual Updates, Quality Broadcasts, Quality University, etc.
- Ensure all Major Quality Issues are listed and up‑to‑date on the Project Quality Status Report.
- Assume responsibility for conducting detailed constructability reviews and participate in page‑turn review meetings.
- Perform intermediate quality assurance testing including water, moisture content, material compatibility and adhesion.
- Assume responsibility for basic training onsite or at office location on construction quality‑related topics.
- May be required to review and certify submittals for accuracy.
- Monitor specific and systemic work practices; identify, document and recommend solutions to construction quality issues.
- Capable of communicating project quality status and issues at project review meetings.
- Identify non‑compliant conditions using advanced quality recognition skills.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced co‑workers in advanced quality‑related topics.
- Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
- Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
- Formal presentation skills (Intermediate).
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, building codes and other technical product and material data (Intermediate).
