Assistant Manager – Pigging/Pipeline Maintenance

Full Time – Williston, ND, US

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Pipeline Maintenance

Salary: Based on Experience

Summary / Objective

Our team is growing and we are seeking an experienced Pipeline Operator with Pigging experience to join our team! The Assistant Manager works directly with the Sr. Manager and Pipeline Maintenance Technicians to maintain the pipeline infrastructure through launching and receiving pigs, maintaining gearboxes and valves, pulling liquids, and managing schedules and SAP data. The position is hands‑on with daily field operational responsibility, schedule management, SAP integration, personnel management, and communication with contractors and coworkers.

The Assistant Manager also assists in onboarding and training new staff, benchmarks operational efficiency, and collaborates on guidelines to improve operational excellence. Additionally, the role captures equipment needs for repair, modification, or infrastructure expansion to meet industry standards.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Walk, bend, stoop, stand, climb, and lift up to 75 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Be computer proficient with Microsoft Office and internet.
  • Read and interpret maps.
  • Walk up to 5 miles per day.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of pigging oil and gas lines and maintenance techniques.
  • Know parts, tools, and supplies used in pigging procedures.
  • Understand pipeline installation and construction.
  • Work unsupervised, manage others, and solve problems.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a company‑provided working cell phone.
  • Have advanced knowledge of oilfield safety requirements and pass a proficiency exam.
  • Complete required Operator Qualifications (OQ’s).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to all Federal, State, Local, Customer, and company regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands‑on pipeline and pigging operations, with proven track record and willingness to train new hires.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in pipeline operations, safety, or mechanical maintenance are a plus.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Advanced understanding of pipeline systems, pigging tools, and equipment; experience using pigging tracking and monitoring software.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in hazardous environments, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces.
  • Safety Certification: Relevant training such as H2S, First Aid, Confined Space Entry.
Physical Demands

Ability to climb stairs, sit, stand, walk, carry, push, lift up to 75 lbs, pull, kneel, bend, twist, and perform repetitive wrist and hand movements for extended periods while maintaining mental acuity throughout the shift.

Position Type and Schedule

Full‑time, flexible. Typical schedule is 5 days on / 2 days off on an alternating basis, with occasional weekend/holiday work required.
