About This Role

Brink Constructors, Inc. is an electrical contractor with over 75 years of experience in high‑voltage transmission line and substation erection.

Job requires a DOT physical and a current DOT medical card.

What You’ll Do

A Brink Superintendent is responsible for the direction, guidance, safety, health and welfare of all site staff and for documenting and executing the day‑to‑day field operational needs of the individual project. The Superintendent manages the day‑to‑day crews and sub‑contractors, handles weekly changes, monitors productivity, trains the crew, and ensures safe working conditions while maintaining schedules.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and work with a crew of Journeyman, Apprentices, Operators, and Groundmen
  • Lay out work and ensure materials, tools, equipment and information are on the job site in the proper locations to meet construction schedules
  • Interact with the construction manager or Project Manager and, on smaller projects, oversee complete installation
  • Must be able to report to assigned job site location on time or as directed
  • Has ability to monitor work in progress
  • Accurately evaluate fellow employees’ work performance fairly
  • Train field personnel in technical skills and safety methods
  • Project Safety
    • Clearly understand and comply with Company/Job Safety Requirements (OSHA)
    • Clearly understand and comply with Company Policies and SOPs
    • Apply discipline to field staff when necessary
    • Ensure all emergency phone numbers are understood and that the nearest hospitals and routes are known
    • Cooperate with Safety Department to investigate incidents openly and honestly
    • Ensure all safety flash and safety information is posted and disseminated
  • Equipment and Tools
    • Ensure minor maintenance, upkeep and service is being completed
    • Provide written and signed training and documentation for safe operation of each piece of equipment or tool
    • Ensure staff is trained on equipment they are operating
    • Knowledge and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials
    • Accurately organize materials and tools to maintain clean and neat work areas
    • Properly and effectively install electrical systems as required
    • Accurately and timely troubleshoot all types of wiring
    • Safely use and instruct proper use of power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders and KO punches
    • Work with shop to maximize equipment resources of the company
  • Production
    • Communicate to the crew, subcontractors and owners to maintain good working relationships
    • Inventory, record keeping, and usage of required materials
  • Project Paperwork and Documentation
    • Read and understand all contract requirements and paperwork documentation
    • Accurately oversee time reporting and proper coding of timesheets
    • Document weekly and monthly paperwork, including marked‑up material purchase orders, field purchase orders, cash receipts, charge‑card receipts, and mailed or delivered to the Superintendent no less than once per week
    • Send employee termination notices with comments to Project Manager and Human Resources
    • Other employee documentation as necessary (discipline, time off, evaluations, etc.)
    • Ensure all paperwork is completed timely and accurately
Working Conditions
  • Job may require working in all elements, depending on job location and time of year (heat, cold, rain, or snow)
  • Must utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta‑Johns)
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required
  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, night shift, 40 hours per week and overtime as required with little or short notice
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation (most sites are not served by public transportation)
What You’ll Bring Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Journeyman Certificate
  • High school Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of previous experience (preferably in distribution and small transmission construction)
  • Valid Class A CDL
