Field Service Technician

Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will be the face of National Oilwell Varco at customer locations. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the successful installation, commissioning, and operation of our products, offering comprehensive training and support. This role is vital in maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional service, contributing to the overall success of our business.

• Travel to customer sites and perform on-site installations, testing, and training for NOV products, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
• Conduct field calibrations, upgrades, and maintenance, optimizing system performance and addressing technical issues promptly.
• Communicate field feedback and reports to internal teams, contributing to continuous improvement and product enhancements.
• Maintain accurate billing records, manage inventory, and ensure timely completion of administrative tasks related to field services.
• Comply with safety protocols and provide training to customers, promoting a safe work environment and operational best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends and product knowledge, enabling effective support and innovative solutions.
• Build and nurture strong customer relationships, delivering exceptional service and addressing their unique needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical challenges, providing timely and efficient solutions.
• Ensure timely submission of field service documentation, maintaining accurate records for future reference.

• High School Diploma or GED is required, with an AA Degree in a technical field preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of technical experience, ideally in the oil and gas industry, is essential for this role.
• Candidates must be 21 years of age or older with a valid US Driver's license.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively, with a rotational schedule, is a key requirement, including the ability to work 12+ hour days.
• Knowledge of oil and gas field components, including software and hardware, is necessary for effective support.
• An electrical background is preferred, providing an advantage in understanding and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Willingness to be on-call and respond to emergencies, demonstrating a strong commitment to customer support.
